The answer to this question depends on the individual patient’s specific medical condition and the degree of pressure ulcer that needs to be treated. Studies have generally shown that wound healing time can be reduced by using negative pressure wound treatment (NPWT).
But these effects are not possible in all cases where NPWT was applied promptly and correctly. It is therefore difficult to know if NPWT can improve the healing process for a pressure ulcer within the first two months after hospitalization, without analyzing each case.
