Summarize which agency/agencies regulate/oversee APRN prescribing in your state.

Safe non-opioid prescribing

Arizona’s Board of Nursing oversees APRN prescribing. Additionally, the State’s pharmacy board also regulates certain drug substitution and therapeutic interchange protocols in accordance with state statutes and regulations. APRNs are licensed by the Board of Nursing to be able to prescribe drugs. They must also maintain valid DEA registration numbers and complete ongoing education courses in pharmacology. Lastly, all APRN prescriptions must include information about the diagnosis and condition, as well as directions, dosages, length of therapy, warnings or precautions that may be required by the practitioner.
