Both positive and negative, my experience with healthcare information system has been mixed. The convenience and accessibility of electronic records from any location is great, but sometimes the systems can be complicated. The transition was easy as my coworkers were already familiar with the health information system and could offer assistance as needed.

The major benefit I’ve experienced is the speed and accuracy of obtaining a patient’s medical history or other pertinent data. I can make informed decisions about the patient’s treatment by having access to large amounts of data at once. It has also saved me time by being able send lab results electronically and fill out forms online.

There are some drawbacks to this system, including security concerns and the high cost. It is tedious and lengthy for new users to set up the system. This can depend on previous experience with using computers or software programs. Furthermore, if something goes wrong in updating patient information on these systems due to technical difficulties or human error it can cause serious problems down the line for patients’ treatment plans if left unnoticed by clinicians or administrators alike.

The medical record exposure I received while studying nursing school shed light on how important proper documentation is when caring for patients as well how vital health care information systems are becoming in today’s world . This knowledge has helped me to be better equipped for any future healthcare job.
