My advocacy efforts in healthcare were reflected by my work with a hospital to develop a program for uninsured people to access health care. To expand and provide quality healthcare to more people, we advocated for increased funding. We also spoke out about disparities in health care and held meetings with government officials to discuss solutions, such as increasing Medicaid eligibility or providing financial assistance for those who couldn’t afford it. Additionally, we advocated for legislation to protect vulnerable groups from being discriminated based on income or health. We were able significantly to increase healthcare accessibility and options for our community.
